How to sell excess inventory

A business sells excess inventory on ForthClear by listing the goods, the quantity, the condition, and a price. Listing is free. The seller pays 5% of the item subtotal when an item sells. There is no membership. The seller is the seller of record.

How does a seller list?

Add the lot at https://app.forthclear.io/seller/add-product, or import with CSV or Excel. A Shopify merchant can also list from inside the Forthcast app. Standalone ForthClear does not offer a merchant-connectable direct Shopify OAuth import.

Attach a manifest when you have one. If you do not, say so. Buyers use that distinction.

How does the buyer pay?

Turn on instant checkout and set a shipping price if you want buyers to pay by card under your quote threshold. Set the quote threshold above the minimum order quantity, or every order stays a quote. When a listing has instant checkout and a shipping price, a buyer pays by card through Stripe for a quantity below that listing's quote threshold. A quantity at or above the threshold, or a listing the seller has not opened for instant checkout, uses a quote. The seller is the seller of record. ForthClear does not offer escrow or a mandatory inspection window, and it does not guarantee payment; each order record shows its status.

Sellers connect Stripe and complete Stripe identity verification before payouts. ForthClear does not offer escrow.

Questions

What does it cost to list?
Nothing. Sellers pay 5% of the item subtotal when an item sells. Buyers pay no ForthClear fee.
Do I have to accept a quote?
A quote is the path when instant checkout is off, or when the quantity is at or above your quote threshold. You are the seller of record either way.
Can an agent buy through MCP?
Yes. The public tool schema is https://app.forthclear.io/api/mcp/schema.json and the MCP endpoint is https://app.forthclear.io/mcp. Buying still follows the listing's checkout rules.
