Forthclear ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including account registration information (name, email address), usage data from your Shopify store integration (order data, product data, inventory levels), and communications you send to us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, process transactions, send you technical notices and support messages, and respond to your comments and questions.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with service providers who assist in our operations (such as Shopify for app integration, Stripe for payment processing) and as required by law.

Shopify App Data

Our Shopify app accesses order history, product catalog, and inventory data solely to provide forecasting and analytics services. We do not access customer payment information. Data is processed in accordance with Shopify's Partner Program Agreement.

Financial Data (Plaid)

Where users choose to connect a bank account via Plaid, we access certain financial data to provide cash flow and demand forecasting features. The following describes how we handle that data.

What we access: When you connect a bank account through Plaid, we retrieve account identifiers, account balances, and transaction history. This data is accessed solely through Plaid's secure API and only with your explicit consent.

Purpose: Financial data accessed via Plaid is used exclusively for the purpose of generating cash flow analysis and demand forecasts within Forthclear. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any secondary purpose.

Protection: All financial data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and encrypted at rest using AES-256. Access to financial data is restricted to authorised services and personnel on a need-to-know basis.

Retention: Raw financial data retrieved from Plaid — including transaction history, balances, and account identifiers — is processed immediately upon retrieval and purged within 7 days of retrieval, or upon disconnection of the bank account, whichever is sooner. Derived forecasting outputs that do not contain raw financial data may be retained for the life of the subscription.

Requesting deletion: You may disconnect your bank account at any time from within the Forthclear dashboard. Upon disconnection, all raw financial data associated with that account will be deleted within 7 days. To request immediate deletion of all financial data, contact us at info@forthclear.io.

Plaid: Bank account connections are facilitated by Plaid Inc. Plaid's own privacy policy governs the data it processes on your behalf. You can review Plaid's privacy policy at plaid.com/legal.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at info@forthclear.io.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and encrypted at rest using AES-256. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@forthclear.io. EU/EEA residents have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to erasure (right to be forgotten).
