Manifested vs unmanifested lots

A manifested lot is one the seller listed unit by unit, or with a file that names the units. An unmanifested lot is a bulk quantity without that list. The difference is whether you can see the contents before you pay, not a quality grade.

What is a manifest?

A manifest is the seller's list: identifiers, quantities, and sometimes condition or retail. It is only as good as the file the seller uploaded. ForthClear does not create one when the seller did not.

When does the difference matter?

It matters when size, colour, expiry, or model changes what you can resell. If those details are missing, treat the lot as mixed. Do not use a category name as a substitute for a manifest.

On the marketplace, the lot page is the record. Open it from a category page or from the public catalog before you check out or request a quote.

Questions

Does ForthClear manifest every lot?
No. Sellers attach a manifest when they have one. ForthClear does not invent the contents.
Is unmanifested the same as damaged?
No. Unmanifested means the unit list is missing. Condition is a separate label the seller sets.
How do I pay?
When a listing has instant checkout and a shipping price, a buyer pays by card through Stripe for a quantity below that listing's quote threshold. A quantity at or above the threshold, or a listing the seller has not opened for instant checkout, uses a quote. The seller is the seller of record. ForthClear does not offer escrow or a mandatory inspection window, and it does not guarantee payment; each order record shows its status.
